I strongly recommend "DEEP the applience repair man" from Fix Your Applience. (we are 36 years in this house, so we have seen few of them) Bellow is my experience with DEEP over last few days. I called Saturday morning arund 10 A.M. looking for someone to come and repair my refrigirator which stopped cooling day(s) before, freezer was working OK. To my surprise (and delight) technitian answered on second ring. Whithin minutes after I sent him my address, he confirmed that he will be at my house between 14:00 and 15:00 same day. He showed up at 14:45. (punctional, things are looking up). He quickly identified problem to be evaporator fan motor and removed the motor cover to reveal that water somehow got inside and shorted out parts of the circuit board. He chcked part availability and confirmed that part is available and that he can replace it on Monday. (no fridge fo two days, not looking good). Then he said "I can fix this". (go ahead, we need the fridge). He cleaned the board, resoldered one capacitor and installed to jumper wires right here on my kitchen counter. He then reassembled the all the compnents and confirmed that everything is working normally. (yes everything is working normally and it took less than 4O minttes; I was impressed with with his knowledge, skill, efficiency and honesty). I told him to order the new part and to come back to install it on Monday. At this point I aked him if he could take a look at my old refrigirator (47 year old Belanger) downstairs which had similar problem. He saild that he could and did. He removed both back and bottom panels in the freezer to expose ice bouild up behind them. (this was not visible inside the freezer). Hot water and hammer took care of the ice (half bucket full). All the drains and drain hose were blocked solid (I have never cleaned them). He removed them and I rinced them all with hot water. He reassembled all the components and 47 year old fridge is running like new. (it took about an hour and most of the time was spend on removing ice build up). While waiting on ice to melt I learned that he was licenced electrician. So, I asked him to order and replace my hot water tank circuit breaker (it shorted out on Friday; I used breaker that normaly fed garage heater to feed hot water tank so we had hot water). He called on Monday to find out how refrigirators were doing and if fan motor replacement could wait till Tuesday. My wife told him that it could. He told her that he would come around 10 A.M. He arrived at 9:45 A.M. on Tuesday replaced fan motor in the fridge, faulty circuit breaker and reinstalled wires. (all of this took 20 minutes). Both fridges, hot water tank, and garage heater all working fine today. So, my wife is happy, I am happy. Thank you DEEP.
